Question about re blue from S&W

Want to do a model 19-2 6" How much did it cost? And what was the turn around time? How did it come out? Photos before and after would be great

While I cannot answer all of your questions, I can tell you that I am very pleased with the quality of work and turnaround time I experienced with the S&W factory. I send in a well used, very beat up four screw pre model 29. I asked them to rebuild it to “as new” condition. While I cannot recall the exact cost or turnaround time, both were very reasonable, and the gun looks, shoots and feels “as new”.

While I do understand those that say never redo a gun, as it hurts its collector value, this gun was in such bad condition that it had very little collector value.

To me one of the benefits is that I now have a factory reconditioned gun, which from my experience is more desirable than one rebuilt by a private gunsmith.

Thanks buddy. Dont have the gun but the barrel on each side of the gun is pretty rough as is the cylinder was some heavy scratch marks that r just a little deep.

A reblue alone from S&W can cost almost $300 and take 3 months to
return. Do not return a gun for refinish in August as the plant usually shuts
down every summer for almost a month. Pete
