    You already did... kinda.

All you need to know is under the crane.

It's a 686 no dash CS-1 made in 1988. Generally speaking there aren't a whole lot of really "collectible" stainless revolvers. The CS-1 686 is an exception.

The M stamp means it's had a hammer nose bushing mod done at the factory. 686 & 686-1 had a recall due to some of them having excessive clearance around the firing pin which could let the primer flow into the hole & lock up the cylinder.

It's an L frame. The bull barrel makes the frame look smaller I guess.

I'm guessing it also has a custom .38 SP cylinder. It's thought that the "jump" from a .38 round in a .357 cylinder degrades accuracy. I would also guess the cylinder throats would be dead nuts uniform with that degree of customization.

You can tell from his pictures and the crane one posted that they are not the same gun. Did seeing the CS make your brain fritz out? Mine almost did.

Luckily looks like the original victim is a stainless K frame, not a CS gun at all.

Oh crap! I just caught the pinned barrel!

        I've been had...

Yeah... I wasn't going to say anything about molesting a CS-1 in that manner but yes, I am relieved.

Fish.... That CS-1 is mine. I posted that pic as an example to show ziconceo what a 'crane' was and where to look on his revo for more info.
But... You are right on with the info about the CS-1!
