Help Choosing New Hand Gun

Ok guys so i currently have a 92fs Inox that is mainly home gun, i have recently bought a AR15 and also have my Mosin. Im Thinking of trying to get my CCW here soon so i want something a lighter than my tank 92fs. Im not sure one what is offered here in Ca. so if its not an option please let me know.

First off im looking for a 40. These are the ones im looking at and thinking of.

An XD or xd-s
S&W M&P C or shield.
CZP 07

Any help or other suggestions would be great, Trying to keep it under 700$ Even better would be under 600 $

A friend recently bought a Shield and I like it enough that I'd carry it.


And I'm pretty picky about only carrying small, slim (single stack) pistols.

I just got the XD40 not that long ago. Love it, well the whole family loves it. Even the wife who shot for the first at 55 yrs of age. But she did prefer my 92FS Centurion. I tried the M&P but I didnt like the trigger pull and felt ok sitting in my hands.

All of your choices are available via SSE. I have never looked into the cost of those firearms when SSE is involved, so I don't know if they all fall under your budget.

Also, I don't think the XDs comes in .40.

-Great trigger, the safety takes a bit of getting used to IMHO. I also don't like the ergos.
S&W M&P C or shield.
-Be sure to get the off-roster or non-CA compliant version the LCI/Mag Disconnect I have been hearing causes reliability issues. Also it makes doing a field strip harder.
CZP 07
-Very attractive firearm, looking into buying one myself to replace my Glock 19. The Omega trigger gets raved reviews as well as one of the best ergos in the business. Not only that but the 2014 version comes with many features found in more expensive firearms. CZ remains one of the most copied brand even today, Sphinx which is basically what a lot term the Rolex of firearms are basically very expensive CZ clones. The Sphinx SDP a $1300 pistol is a clone of the P-07.

Err don't take everything I say seriously though, I'm a little biased.

To be honest, in your price range and looking for small and light. Go with a Glock 23 gen 4 or glock 27 gen 4 or the standard of either of the two both are compact or sub compact personally I find the 27 too small. however they will both be light and easy for concealed carry.

I have already Shot a S&W M&P $0. and i liked it. The look of the czp 07 is great and one reason im considering it. Still have not shot it.

As far as glocks go, That's a big NO NO For me. I don't like them.

So yeah i like the XD-s but i have read a couple things and i dont think they are available here in Ca. ?? So i think i might go with the CZP or Shield, Maybe i can fins somewhere with a CZP so i can get some shoots in and go from there.

Where are you located? I work for OC Firearms in Fountain Valley and we SSEs all three of the guns you're looking at. I can't swear to the CZ, but both of the others come in under your budget. We have the XDs sitting on the shelf right now. 3.3" 9mm in black, unless they sold them all today.

I'm generally a big fan of metal guns, but I love my Shield. All three of the guns you picked are awesome. The XDs and Shield are more geared to concealed carry, but they're extremely accurate and fun to shoot. The PO7 is a bigger, but it has good ergos and a great trigger. You really can't go wrong with any of them.

2014 CZ P-07

I got to play with one for a while. First thing I noticed is it's heavy. Second, it has a lot of bulky levers. I know it shoots great, but I wouldn't go with it.

The bulky levers... I made an IWB holster for it is why that really stood out to me. Summertime in California for a CCW... hmmmmm.

I would definitely echo the above post, and suggest going with the XDs or an M&P as they are pure concealed carry guns.
