Just added the R1 to my collection, fit and finish is good. The slide to frame fit, has a little bit of play unlike my S&W 1911 Performance Center. The only thing i dont like is the play in the trigger which i know a lot of 1911's have, i may fit an oversize one at a later time to get rid of the rattle if it really bothers me. Overall it' s a good looking gun even tho I had to pretty much pay msrp, at least the sse was included in the price.
Remington is having a promo for either $75 rebate or one of 3 Storm Lake barrels if you purchase before may 31st, I opted to get the extended and ported barrel.

Update* Took a long lunch and got my first range session in with the R1. Had the target out at 7yrs and shot 80 rounds of 230gr fmj reloads without one issue. Groupings were decent but I wasn't too focused on accuracy, just wanted to see how she ran. I tried the factory mags, Sig factory mags and CMC starlines without any issues. Trigger pull was at 4.5lbs and broke pretty clean, not as clean as my S&W performance center but similar to my Sig.
Overall I like it and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a sub $1k 1911.
Here's a couple pics of the groupings, 16 rounds each.
