Ok, I sent the Nighthawk Enforcer to its home for a simple warranty fix as well as some elective work. I was originally frustrated because work I did not want done, was done, and work I paid for was not completed BUT all in all the gun is really nice and turned out really well. The black barrel really has grown on me.
What it went in for was a premature slide locking issue, they took care of that, in addition they lowered the ejection port to current geometry, replaced the fire control components (hammer, sear, disconnector with new machined parts, replaced the slide stop, grip safety, and bushing with new machined parts too... So I now have the BEST of both worlds a 2005 build gun, sub 500 serial number built by Mr. Phillips, Travis Gregory and mr. Sharp. (3 of the best in the business) Mr. phillips is at Wilson now. I suggested One of the original builders do the work on the gun and in fact Travis Gregory completed all the work and it turned out really well. It was also refinished in Black Nitride (love this finish)...not that it was worn to begin with , actually it had seen less than a thousand rounds total, It looked new but I wanted to go away from the two tone to an all black finish.
oh, and they recut the feedramp, did a full reliability job, replaced the ejector, extractor, tuned the extractor, raduised it and polished the bottom edge, and throated the chamber and polished the feedramp, throat, and chamber.....
I took it to the range and shot only 150rds but no failures at all , runs like a top. I will save to boring details and post pics of the before, after, and an 8rd group at 10yds. Took it out Sunday and ran 150 more. I keep going when I am pressed for time, but she ran flawlessly.
Let m e know what you think.....I think this is a pretty special pistol given its history, builders, and updating, you cant buy one like it with the same builders for sure Serial number is 000336now they are at 20k
I was aiming at the 7 on the target
