A "Short" Look at Snubs

Looking for some info I stumbled upon this page from Google, it turned out to be a great layman's read about all sorts of snubnose revolvers for carry (not pocket howitzers ) and the author's opinion on many different kinds he's owned and used over the years.

I won't spoil the conclusion, but will say I know that many Calgunners have stated the same as this author about which they think is the "best" for everyday all day carry.

I enjoyed that short read. TOTALLY agree with the stainless comments... utility, yes, but I dig my blued Mod 19 and 38 Bodyguard!!

I read this article...very nice. The comments on the alloy framed S&W mod 12 breaking after just a few shots of +P ammo caught my eye. There is info on the S&W forum on alloy frames being cracked in the crane area when the barrels are first installed at S&W. This can affect current J frames, too. Failure usually happens right away, regardless of ammo used. Always take a look just under the barrel for cracks in the crane area of the frame when buying a alloy Smith, new or used.

Yep, new 642-1 no lock made with the old frame and the old style screw in barrels, have been wanting a no lock for a long time and it's great to get a new one.
