    Colt Python made year?

    Hi guys...
I have Colt Python with 4" barrel in Royal Blue Finish with serial Starts with T818XX.
Dose anyone have idea what year is it made?
I heard from some forum that T serise Python is better in quality compare to Previous ones.
    Is it true?
And If the condition is Good on the python what will be the fair price?
    I will attach the Pics.
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks...
But I already tried and no result.
    It says no records found.
It seems very hard to find out made year for python after 1985 ones.

Here is a list of Python production years and either the first serial number for that year or the range of serial numbers for that year. For example, serial # 1649 was produced in 1956. Other Colt firearms up to 1978 can be found here: http://proofhouse.com/index.htm Year Serial Number...

Looks like you have to call Colt.

You may have to send them the serial number and order a letter. Don't know about recent quality but the early ones were beautiful guns polished within a inch of their life with a deep glossy blue with everything hand fitted by real craftsmen.

If the stocks and front sight are correct, it's a earlier Generation III Python. Later GEN IIIs had front sights held by just one pin.

looks like yours is not documented in the picture above. Call 1-800-962-COLT. Free of charge of you just want to know. You'll need to pay (I forgot how much) if you need an offical letter with Colt letterhead.

You may double check to make sure, my guess is between 97-98.

I was asking about the rough value... not lowballing.
I won't sell this Python and my other Serise 70 Colt Goldcup.
                      They are keeper.

You could look up gunbroker and see what they are selling for and not listed for to get a rough idea.

                          Beautiful piece .
Yeah is late 80's I believe probably around 87 or so.
Call colt and give them the serial number and they will tell you.

I already checked the gunbroker they goes around $2,000 and up but since we live in another part of USA which ruled by politician from wonderland, I want to get rough idea for California price.
                            Not planning to sell.
