    Refinished Kimber - Headhunter Firearms

I've had a Kimber for many years. It was the first gun I bought, and I've done everything with it. IDPA, USPSA, rimfire competitions, CCW, open carry, backpacking, dirtbiking... I've put a couple thousand rounds of .45 through it, and probably 5-7000 rounds of .22lr through several different conversions. Needless to say it had seen better days. We have a Cerakoter in the shop now at OC Firearms and I've seen his work and liked it. I got tired of looking at the wear on my Kimber a few days ago and decided to have him refinish it. Here are the before, during, and after pictures.

    Before:

As you can see, it had certainly seen better days. The only reason the slide wasn't completely beat up was that I had it refinished a few years ago.

      These are the after pictures:

Those are fingerprints and oil on the frame, the finish doesn't have any flaws. The frame and slide are black, and all the controls are Socom Blue. John did an awesome job with it. It looks better than it did when it was brand new. If anyone is interested in getting some Cerakote work done, I highly recommend John at Headhunter Firearms. He's located in our shop now and his work speaks for itself.

      His website is http://www.headhuntersfirearms.com/Default.asp

He's currently working on his gallery for the website. It was up last week, but something got tweaked.
