    P99 Rail Question

My friend just bought a new Walther P99 and has a Lasermax laser he wants to attach to it. the rail built into the gun isnt far enough forward for the screw to laser to go through it. He even bought a small piece of aluminum rail, cut it down, and used some JB Weld to attach it. that worked, but we went to the range today and it came off after about 50 rounds. any suggestions for other things to try? we were thinking maybe use a dremel to make the rail slot in the gun a little larger..

The simplest solution is often the best: don't use the laser. It's not going to improve one's shooting ability.

What generation Walther p99 does he have. First gen guns had a proprietary rail that only Walther products could attach to. I think 2nd gen uses a picantiney rail

Its the second generation. he just bought it in july. its the OD Green "military" .40 cal. the rail is picatiny but instead of having 3 slots like a sig, it only has one up towards the front
