    Smith & Wesson SD9VE

Does anyone know which FFL's have the SD9VE in stock?

Also for those who own one, what are your thoughts about it?

It's regarded as an upgraded Sigma. I owned a sigma and while it was nice, the trigger (even after the spring mod), was not to my liking.

Never the less, the gun had great ergonomics in the hand.

If this new model is better, I'd get one for $300 if it came up in the marketplace.

I already own a m&p. Im just looking for a glock alternative. I had a glock and could never adapt to it.

Too bad they dont have a Turner up here in the bay area...

I had a Sigma and it served me well. I would but another for sure.

As the others have said, it is an upgraded Sigma. They seem to have worked out all of the bugs that came after they were sued by Glock, and had to modify their design. A lot of people were leery of the "Sigma" name because of said problems, so it got a new name when they fixed everything. Truthfully, I have not heard anything bad about them. I have known a couple of police officers that had them and liked them. As a basic handgun, they are hard to beat in terms of price. There isn't as much aftermarket stuff out there for them as there is for other models, though I believe that Apex has a trigger upgrade available. If all you are looking for is a generic 9mm or .40 caliber, these should work just fine.

-Mb (who has not shot this version, but liked the later Sigma versions)

I looked at them closely as it's tempting. Davidsons has them in stock for cheaper than turners. Still, for a few extra $ I think I'm better to just buy another Glock 19.

I have a first generation sigma and it still shoots good. They are a good guns for people that can not afford to drop lots of money on a pistol.

I have a Sigma, and I see it as an underrated handgun. Worst thing about it is the trigger. With practice it's not so bad. I was very curious about the new model, I've heard that the trigger.......although improved, still leaves a bit to be desired. YMMV

There is a Spring Mod for the Sigma?

I received a S&W40P for my 40th birthday last year. The trigger is really long and much heavier than I would like. Didn't know there was a mod for it. Can you provide a link or point me in the right direction?
