How much can I expect to pay for a new or used Ruger Mark III in a gun store? I want one with the heavy barrel. I saw that Ruger listed the 22/45 mark III for about 200 bucks less than the normal Mark III, why would they sell it for so much less ($305)? Because of the 45 style grip? Thanks for the help.

The 22/45 has a plastic grip, easier to make than from steel.Originally posted by TylerHow much can I expect to pay for a new or used Ruger Mark III in a gun store? I want one with the heavy barrel. Reed's usually has pretty good prices on these at their annual sales. Last year they had a new Hunter model with fluted barrel and slabside competition target models for $400 or a tad over. They had six Hunters and sold them all the 1st day of the sale, still had the other model on the 2nd day. I think the sale should be in two month?Comment

I just picked up a Ruger 22/45 Mark III Hunter on saturday from Big Mac and love it so far. I wont be able to shoot it until tuesday, but I will let you know how it works out. It has the fluted barrel which saves a ton of weight. If I were you I would handle the fluted and non fluted versions.Comment
