PX4 thoughts

I haven't shot a Beretta PX4 yet and I'm thinking about buying one. It's hard to find any other caliber than .40 which I'm not the biggest fan of but I figure I'll still give it a go. I have a few .40's but I'm a bigger fan of 9mm. Which caliber PX4 would you recommend?

My 40 Px4 is my most accurate, reliable, and ergonomic handgun I own. Easy shooter. Trigger was kinda gritty to start but its smooth as silk now.

If you're looking for a used PX4 Storm in 9mm, I think Shooters Warehouse off Bradshaw has one on consignment. New ones, go to RiverCity.

I have a Px4 simply because my last name is Storm and I thought it was a cool idea. I have shot it a handful of times and to tell you the truth the only reason I am keeping it is because of the name. If its a hand gun I am more of a 1911 simply because the .45 feels like I am cutting butter compared to the .40

With that said if you are interested in buying the gun.... hahaha

I have a Px4 Storm 9mm, Type F. If you want to take a drive down to the Bay Area, Reed's Indoor Range (Santa Clara) has one you can rent.

As to caliber, to each his own. If you like 9mm, then go with it. It won't be a bad choice as far as the Px4 Storm is concerned.

The px4 in 40 is my EDC. It's the softest shooting gun I have. The storm in 9 would be a piece of cake to shoot, good luck with your search!

I vaguely recall The Gun Range has one for rent, don't remember the caliber though. But as mentioned above, River City or MTG for a new one.

I rented one a couple years ago, gun was great grouped pretty good, it just wasn't my cup of tee, I did better with the xd tactical

The PX4 is good. Accurate, reliable and reasonably priced. Very easy to strip, clean and maintain.
Do note that the slide is all steel but the bottom is plastic. Makes it feel a little top heavy but is fine when you have a full mag in.

If you want the 9mm it shouldn't be difficult to find. I see them all the time in the Calguns marketplace, and they are fairly common new in gun shops. I enjoy mine - very soft shooting and accurate.

The PX4 comes in three flavors. Storm, Compact and Subcompact. The one I like is the compact model which has ambidextrous features for both the mag release and the slide return. It also has the Storm rotating barrel feature that smooths out the recoil. I would opt for the 9mm because there are so many different loads available in this caliber.
