Need help on ccw Glocks 29,30,19

So.... I am in a pinch...

I originally set out to get a g19, great weapon, enjoy shooting it...

however.....

I am also seeing the glock 29,30... all 3 weapons share the same capacity. the 10mm is supposed to be like holding Zeus's lightening bolt... but the 30 would obviously be easier to get ammo for and in this case have lighter recoil

I cannot find a range to save my life that has either the 30 or the 29.

the best shot is the one you can accurately place, I do not believe I would be hindered by the bigger rounds, however I then fall into the whole...if your going to buy a .45... get a colt defender... However, the ability to carry 3 more rounds is not an easy one to over look...

whats the consensus on here?

Do you want to shoot it a lot? Get the 19. Do you want to shoot a little less but with bigger bullets and a little less grip? Get the 30. Do you want to shoot very little due to lack of available over the counter ammo but have the world fall down around you and have hot chicks fall at your feet with every round fired and be able to kill bigfoots (bigfeets?) Get the 29.

I carry a glock 30sf off duty and have zero issues carrying it iwb. It shoots very well for its size and it shoots .45 which is a good overall round. 10mm is a big round but unless you are regularly protecting yourself against grizzlies, I don't see the need to choose a caliber that is hard to find and expensive to shoot. Not sure why people get so stuck on the colt defender. I'm not saying it is a bad gun by any means, however if you are comfortable with a glock, then shoot a glock. Looks like you are on the right path trying to shoot each at the range. My vote goes for the glock 30, especially the sf model.

I carry a Glock 30sf everyday. I carry it IWB or pocket very comfortably. Recoil-wise, it shoots softer than most other .45's I've tried. The 19 is a fantastic gun too.

the only real reason the 10mm is in the picture is carrying it as back up when hunting big game is not a stretch for me, I hunt regularly and play around with hogs and big game quite frequently. having a bear deterrent would be nice....

ammo is not a concern, i have about 1000 pieces of brass and the dillion dies, just no reason at the moment to load lol. (self-fulfilling prophecy??)

but then you worry about over penetration in an urban situation and what not...

I have a 29 and 19 on my permit but carry the 19 quite a bit more because I'm more trained with it and therefore more proficient. The 29/30 is still a damn fine weapon, though. I'd recommend a 4th gen or at least get the SF model.

The 10mm is a nasty round that will take down damned near anything in north America. If range ammo is of concern you can always do what I and many others on this board do and just shoot 40s&w through it. I have a Glock 20sf and I shoot more .40 out of it than anything. I save the 10mm ammo for when I'm out in the woods. They sell conversion barrels to convert it to .40 but they are a waste of money imho. The 20 and 29 will both run 40 right out of the box.

I traded my G19 for a G30SF. G19 is a great pistol, arguably the best 9mm Glock. However, considering that we're limited to 10rds in this state, why not have 10rds of a bigger caliber in a pistol that is almost the same size as the G19?

That being said, had I known that you can shoot .40S&W on G29, I would have bought a G29SF as I read in glocktalk, glockforum and other sites (http://www.northwestfirearms.com/thr...-a-g29.125849/ ) that the frames for the G29SF and G30SF are the same so all need is look and buy a G30 or G30S/G36 complete slide and mags in order to be able to shoot .45ACP.

I picked up a Glock 36...mostly because I thought the narrow profile would be easier to conceal. I am already loading 45 so it sort of fit the current program.

The G20 was a route I went with a .40 cal drop in barrel in the past but sold it because I found a couple of big frame S&W I really wanted.....

The G36 seems to be a relatively soft shooter, certainly compared to a .357 or .44.

I put a mag extension on one mag...a plus 1 on another and the last mag I left stock... The stock mag feels best when carrying but this is all relatively new to me so time will tell....
