Thoughts on Wilson Combat #47D 8-round 1911 Mags?

Picked one up today to try in my Colt Combat Elite.

They look great but wow, definitely not cheap compared to my GI mags.

    Are these any good?

47D's, Chip Power Mags, and Checkmate are my go to. All are a great choice.

They are the best on the market. I use them on all my 1911. Yep, not cheap.

            IMO overpriced & overrated.

Overhyped IMO. Had to change the spring out to ensure better reliability. But seeing the wide variance in the 1911 platform it's no wonder you need to try various products out and see what works best in your gun.

The 47-d's are great mags, but definitely over priced. Checkmate makes some 8rd mags that are about 1/2 the price and have functioned flawlessly in all of 1911's.

I gave the only one I've ever had away when I sold an extra Kimber I had. I had problems with the mag not wanting to feed certain bullets. I had been using 5-10 different mags and spent a lot of time trying to figure out why I would occasionally have an issue shooting the 5000 185gr molly coated bullets I had bought. I finally figured out it was the Wilson mag. Because of that one issue with one particular bullet design, I won't buy another one. I'll stick to the more reliable Chip mags instead.

They function perfectly in my 1911, as do the CMC Power Mags.

No problems with my 47DEs or Checkmate mags that came with my Valor.

Perfect out the box. I'm currently trying out the brownells 1911 mag and out of the 3 one has problems feeding out the box,the other two are ok so far.
