ATTN: Desert Eagle Owners (Help)

I just got my Hogue wrap around finger grooved rubber grip for my Mark XIX however the user manual says nothing about removing the original grip. If someone could please help me out it'd be appreciated.

The funny looking multi tool is stuffed (skinny end)into the hole at the bottom of the grips. The grips are pried off from there.
