    M&P striker safety plunger spacer?

Last night I started installing new night sights on my shield. I knew very well that underneath the rear sight is the striker safety spring and spacer.

I drifted out the rear sight carefully to capture it with my thumb. When I got the sight out I noticed the small spacer was missing.

I know S&W redesigned the spring and spacer to be one connected piece. I searched around my garage just to make sure it hadn't popped out.

What is interesting from the picture below is you can see the spring is bent at the top.

Just seeing if anyone else who has changed shield sights knows if the spring and spacer are indeed connected to each other. That would put me at ease that I didn't lose the thing.

I'll be calling S&W today or just try and find a new spacer and spring online.

I've owned 5 m&p's and changed the sights on all of them, each one always had the disk above the spring. Call them just in case.

When I changed mine out, also had spacer.

I called S&W. They are sending me a new spring and spacer for free. Problem is they are backordered for weeks.
