    Glock 21 SF CA compliant

I am in the process of getting one. But I heard the only SF model that they allow to sell in CA is with standard glock rail, std mag release, std sights? Which is CA compliant? I am actually looking at getting the one with the full picatinny rail, night sights and even maybe with the ambi mag release.

    Can't get it here.

Contact the DOJ and share your frustration.

You can get the ambi mag release and full rail here in CA. I got mine at Metroshot. The nightsights can be added later.

Actually, you can't. There was a short period of time that the full featured 21SFs slipped in. The roster was updated and FFLs should not be selling the ones with Ambi release or Picatinny rails anymore. If they are, they could be in some hot water.

That said, here's a pic mine:

Is that your picture? I'm waiting for someone to say " what you have all silver bullets!?" Even though it is in black and white.

Yes, it's mine. I did a real dirty convert to BW on it to show the guns better and blew out the pic. Didn't have the time or desire to actually fix the exposure and lighting problems.

I managed to pick up a 21sf with the pic rail from a guy here on CG. I like it quite a bit better than the standard one. But it is not on the list. I don't really have any idea how the heck you are supposed to know that but I really think the DOJ is making it up as they go along.

                    21SF-STD / Steel, Polymer Pistol 4.6" .45 ACP 6/14/2009

On my box it does not say "STD" it says "1913/MB" for the rail type. They only added the SF models as comparable, w/o major changes to the frame. Otherwise, the SF models would not make it onto the roster w/o an approved loaded chamber indicator and a magazine disconnect. That is why the 1913 rail and the ambi safety will not make the list.

I found that out after the fact. The average person is not going to figure out what the STD is the first time they check out the stupid list. It really is dumb.

Yeah, but in 99.99% of the cases, the average person buys the gun off the shelf from the FFL. The FFL knows what they can and can't sell to us normal citizens... or at least, they should. So the buyer doesn't really need to know, and the ones that buy them online and have them shipped in would find out at DROS time.

Gotta do your D.D. if you're going to buy guns online.

My G21SF -- already sent back to GLOCK. Grip frame even "SF" too big around. Replacing with G34 and eating the fact it's 9mm (I get to use my 33 rounders again)

With Springfield TRP Operator also going back to manufacturer...

Thanks for the replies guys. I actually just gonna go with the standard glock rail and mag release. So as long it's a CA compliant model (MFG Model No:PF21502), then I should able to get it DROS with no problems?

Any suggestions where I can get a good price on one? Thanks.
