    Glock Connector Set Up.

    Glock owners,

I bought a new Glock 21 fullsize for my b-day, and am very excited!

Being a tinkerer and can't keep a " perfect " gun alone I would like to change and try the 3.5 lbs connector. I've already taken apart the gun and had done some polishing of the factory parts.

Would like your feedback on the following set up, if you have tried it in your Glock.

    A) 3.5 connector, factory trigger spring.

    B) 3.5 connector, NY1 Trigger.

    C) 5.5 factory connector, NY1 Trigger.

Also, have you tried using either the Stainless steel or Tungsten UNCAPTIVE guide rod set up?? Good/bad ??

    Thanks a lot.

First question: Is this your primary SD / HD weapon?

Buying and installing the 3.5 AKA "-" connector is less than $15 or so. Give it a try and see if you like it.

It has a less steep angle to it, so the trigger pull is less, but it makes the trigger a bit mushier/longer.

some people like it with one of the NY srpings. Most people DO NOT run the normal connector with the NY1 trigger, as that just makes it very heavy.

I run the Ghost Rocket 3.5 kit on all my Glocks, (the one with the over travel stop), including their trigger and plunger spring, along with a polish job.

On my G20SF's I run a Glockmeister SS guide rod and 22lb recoil spring.

I use TruGlo TFO's on all my Glocks.

          Good Luck.

            Q.1 What Gen is it?

            - If it is a Gen4? Leave it alone.
            - If it is a Gen3? Try the Glock OEM 4.5 lb "-" connector.

Then, learn to shoot it One-handed.

Once you've done that, Two-hand run'n'gun or tactical shooting will be trigger gratis.

I have a gen 4 g19 and I just bought the ghost edge 3.5 with full spring kit. I will only be using the connector and 6lb spring. All other parts have already been polished via the 25 cent trigger job.

The NY1 spring will make it feel like a double action revolver feel and will add poundage to the trigger pull. Maybe for a CCW, but it I did not like it as a range gun. At least it was just a cheap $2 experiment.

I tinkered much as well, and I am contempt with the Glockworx 2# connector with the competition spring kit (firing pin spring not installed), makes a great value trigger upgrade. I did not polish anything, and it comes out to a smoother pull and about a ~3.5# break. Mine is range only and has been 100% reliable.

                    Okay gang,

After reading all your responses, my choice set up will be: Factory trigger spring, 5.5 connector, polishing all pertinent factory parts.

                    Thanks to one and all!

Yeah, if it absolutely has to work, every time.

If you ever get another, there are a LOT of things I can do to a Glock to make it run super tight, with a pillow-weight trigger.

Reconsider the Glock OEM 4.5 lb. "-" connector.

Shortens the trigger stroke by a little, and takes away the "hump" after the wall, which is usually a strain. Just a cleaner stock break.

IMO the best thing you can do for your G21 is to buy 1000 rounds of 45 ACP and go to the range/take a defensive handgun course. Run the gun and then run it some more. When all is done, clean it and you are GTG!

The trigger definitely gets better with use.
