Glock 23 or 23C

regular 23 is........ 478 shipped
compensated is.... 507 shipped

or should I just get a compensated barrel instead (EFK)?

I was thinking about getting aftermarket barrels anyway. thanks for your suggestions.

Depends on what you will do with it. Competition, target shooting, get the compensated one if you like.

Self defense, regular.

Its primary purpose is for SD, but my buddy sparked my intrest in the tactical competitions he attends w/ his Para Ordinance.

G23 for SD or G23C and add a non-comp barrel for SD

get a G35 for Tact. Comp.

Most clubs will not allow you to run a comp'd barrel.

IDPA is one of those clubs, IPSC is another unless you want to compete with the race gun guys.

I would stick to the original barrel.

GET A SIG.... if that isn't an option non-ported

Regular, unless you like blasts of gas driving up through your sight picture.

Anyone over the age of 10 can handle a non-ported G23. And the argument that the compensated barrel lets you shoot faster is baloney (IMHO). All it will do is let you miss faster, since the G23 already comes back on target fast enough to rapid fire adequately.

Would a G22 be an option for you? The full size gun will have less recoil, maybe even less than a 23C.

I have been asking this question for the past 4 months, 23 or 23c....I have come to the conclusion that either is a great gun....but I am leaning towards the 23c....my reason, I already have the 22 and 27, why not have a "c" model glock?....I can always buy a non ported barrel........

If you go with the 23c, you can get a non ported barrel replacement later. And if you go with the 23, you have the option of getting a compensated barrel or add on compensator. Tell us what you decide on, and when you get it, make sure to post lots of pictures.. Good luck.

I like my G23c and compared to my other friends that have the G23, there is a noticeable ammout of recoil difference. If you are going to shoot competitions or carry, get the regular g23. If you shoot from the waist, you will get the blast all up your front. I opted for the g23c because I can just swap the barrel if needed and yes... your front sight will turn black within a few rounds.
