    Grip Options for the 1911

As a new 1911 owner, I've been trying to get used to the ergonomics and general handling of the gun And while I love how it handles and shoots, the CZ75 in my opinion is still the most natural pointing handgun I've ever picked up.

That being said, do any of you guys happen to know of any grips for the 1911 that offer a similar feel to the stock CZ rubber (?) grips, i.e, with a palm swell and that same or similar material?

I think there are more grip options for the 1911 than any other firearm ever. You'll find something that you like, just may need to try a bunch. Amazon is great for returns

Yea. Pretty much why I figured it wouldn't be outrageous to think there was a grip out there that emulates or is similar to the CZ. The Vz grips on them are nice enough, and they work, but I figured there had to be something that was close. Was hoping to get a suggestion for a starting point.

if its the actual ergonomics of the 1911 that doesnt feel right you could try putting in an arched MSH

                  +1 for VZ grips.

I'm shopping for a pair for myself at the moment. I just can pick "The One."

I thought about a pair of exotic wood grips, but this will be more of a home defense gun.

Can anyone post photos of your grips too? A visual would help a lot.

                      Grip Options for the 1911

I had written this response the last time this question was asked, but rather than post a link I've reposted it here:

I love VZ Grips and have many sets. I like different models for different purposes. The Operator II's are my favorite grips for competition as they stick to my hand like epoxy, especially when combined with a 20lpi checkered front strap, but that combination does get to you after awhile until you have some callouses.

The Gatorbacks are comfortable for all day shooting, while still adding some control.

The Aliens are my favorite all around grip and are grippy without hurting and compliment a checked front strap well.
I voted against Obama before it was cool.

The full length dust cover rail makes a world of difference in the "when I run out of bullets I'm going to beat you to death with the pistol" look that causes bad guys to run in fear, and lesser men to feel inadequate. It looks just plain beastly and the extra heft up front does help manage recoil a bit better. Plus, an angel told me that when God called JMB to heaven it was to build him a full rail 1911!

+1 on VZ Grips - Operator IIs...

Laws against murder and attempted murder should have been the only gun control laws ever needed in America...
