I am not at all a pistolero. I am definitely a rifle guy and shoot them fairly regularly.
I bought an LC9 with the intention of getting a CCW here in San Bernardino County.
So this is actually my first handgun and the second in our family.
Accuracy - Even with my lousy eyes and poor pistol mechanics I was really surprised that almost all my shots went into the bull of the target from a rest at 7 yards. I used a 6 o'clock hold and my shots mostly landed in the black. Wow. Again aside from being a pretty noob pistols shooter I like that the sights were on out right of the box.
Sights - The basic 3 whites dots were adequate but the front seemed very narrow in the rear sights. I was in shade looking into sun and had a hard time picking them up.
Trigger - The long take up is well known in the LC9 but I got used to it. It seemed similar to my milsurp rifles. It did seem smooth out pretty quick though unless I just acclimated quick. I don't know if loosening up in less than 50 rounds is good or not. I'd like to hear from anyone who has used the Galloway trigger kit to shorten the pull of the trigger.
Feeding/Ejecting - I used 50 rounds of CCI Blazer 115 gr. FMJ and 50 of Winchester SZX9 training ammo. No FTf/FTE. I loaded up 7+1. The Blazer stuff seem to be a little more accurate as long as I did my job but not significantly so.
As far as ejecting, hmmm...At first the brass cases of the Winchester were ejecting at 3 o'clock. As I got toward the end they were ejecting more toward the 5 o'clock position. Breaking in? Hotter barrel?
The aluminum Blazer cases were also at 3 o'clock and then went to mostly 11 o'clock with occasional 3 o'clock. Thinking about it now, these may have been the last round out when the slide holds open. Interesting how with very little break in the ejection pattern changed. Maybe someone with more pistol experience can fill me in. (This would be just about anybody)
Over all I like it a lot. Reliable after 100 rounds of brass and aluminum and consistently on target out of the box.
Any comments and suggestions appreciated especially with some vision correction help while shooting.
