    45 degree angled Red Dot?

Just curious, has anyone ever "side-mounted" a red dot scope on a pistol? I am imagining taking a 45 degree picatinny attachment, mounting it on a Sig P226 rail and mounting the red dot sight on the left _side_ of the gun...

I know some AR's have red dots mounted at a 30 degree angle on top of the gun. Just never saw a side-mounted scope. Could be interesting for range shooting - obviously not ideal for carrying :-)

I would recommend just milling the slide and lowering the reflex sight as much as possible so the fixed sights can be used through the reflex sight. After market raised fixed sights might be needed, but at least the gun could still be holstered.

The Glock is not mine but the below 1911 is. I don't think it's worth the effort to have both sights on a pistol because it's only a competition gun anyway for a specific red dot class of firearm.

Before there was Polymer there was Accuracy.

Dude whats the point of that?

If you want a red dot on your handgun either get the slide milled or get a dovetail mount.

Wouldn't this be a 90 degree rail? And left side of yo Sig makes sense, since you hold sideways AND high with the Modified Gangsta Grip.

sounds like you're going for that "two is one.. one is none" thing with the sights, but on a pistol!

that would be gangsta to the extreme.. I say do it..!! bwahhaah..

and i thought wanting to use a 'square punch' to stake a buffer tube was the dumbest thing I've seen on calguns...!

Damn, one post to the homeboy sights. Gotta be a new record. That's all I was thinking reading the op as well, what are you gonna do, drop the gun to the side so you can see it?

But of course nobody here has ever done anything remotely strange with our guns.
