    Bringing handguns to CA regs

Sorry if this is a frequently asked question, but the review of the california regulations just about made my head spin. I'm taking a job in southern california and it looks like I will have to report my handguns to the state when I move. Is that right? Everyone in California does this right?

Everyone moving here since 1999 is supposed to, yes.

You want the New Resident Handgun Ownership Report.

Remember, no magazines > 10 capacity - leave them out of state so you can recover them when you move out again.

And to add the usual comments:
    • If you want to own anything not currently on the Roster, buy before you move.
    • Anything you bring in that is not on the Roster is fine to sell in California after you move here, and there's a market for much of it. California Private Party Transfer sales - between California residents only - are not subject to the Roster
    • remember not to bring in any California 'assault weapons'

ARCHIVED Calguns Foundation Wiki here: http://web.archive.org/web/201908310...itle=Main_Page

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

This is a pretty well-done page with info

The combination of The Gun Wiki to our system is not only in line with what we are working on, but will also serve as a means in which to build upon our ongoing projects.

It's slow as molasses in loading, though

Don't forget to bring a dozen AR PISTOL lowers and another couple dozen forged 1911 and 2011 frames.

Hey Thanks guys, I appreciate the info.

Sorry uclaplinker, just have an old ruger super blackhawk 44 mag and a .454 casull revolver I carry in Alaska for bears.

I'm going to have a hard time reporting my pistols to the govt but maybe thats my libertarian Alaskan mentality coming out in me. I forgot how nice living in Alaska all my life has been, there are practically no gun laws here.
