Why buy a 9mm in Ca?

This is by no means to start a caliber debate! I'm trying to justify a new 9mm! My question is, if the biggest advantage of the 9mm platform is having a larger capacity then why do so many people still buy 9mm in Ca? If your limited to a 10 round magazine then why not have a larger caliber? Is it for faster follow shots and less recoil? What are your reasons for purchasing 9mm?

      Shot placement > caliber

A well trained shooter with a 22 is far more dangerous than a casual shooter with a 45

Price any ammo lately? Also 9mm is much easier to control in multishot strings of fire.

Less recoil, more control. Cheaper ammo, more range time!

I haven't bought a 9mm since before Sandy Hook, since price per round is so high. But, I am in the market for 2 9mm subcompacts now though, due to the changing CCW climate in OC.

I'm gonna get flamed for saying this, but I am sort of glad that magazine capacity isn't a factor for us in CA. I will say that if we had larger cap magazines, making decisions would definitely be much harder!!

Agreed with this, you want to practice with your carry weapon. That said I did look into getting a compact 45. But the issue of ammo prices kept popping into my head. Also 9mm technology has come a long ways so you can buy some decent ammo, hollowpoints, that will get the job done.
