    RUGER Mk3

I looked at a few Ruger Mk 3 .22 semi-autos. Now I intend to buy one. So if a store has one to sell in Cailfornia is it legal for me to buy it? Is the issue that Ruger refuses to alter the Mk 3 in some manner thereby making it illgeal for sale in California or is it that Ruger refuses to sell anymore Mk 3? Ruger wants to sell but California refuses or California allows sales but Ruger refuses? Is there a .22 semi-auto other than the Mk 3 legal for sale in California? Thanks for any help. I intend to call Ruger later today but I think that it is difficult to get through to Ruger.

call your local lg and ask which ruger 22s are still on the list. there are quite a few, if you can, try searching the classifields to get one as a ppt.

I'm trying to understand this too. From what I can gather it seems that if a gun is already on the roster all the manufacturer has to do is pay for the fee and it gets renewed. But if they make changes to the gun then it has to go through certification. So if they release a mk4 then it has to meet roster requirements which it probably won't. Would ruger keep making the mk3 and sell those to california while also making the mk4? Glock has gen 3 that are roster compliant while the gen4 isn't. They are still producing both at this time. It seems like certain manufacturers have decided to let all their handguns drop off the roster because some of their models won't be compliant. Seems like they are taking the attitude if they can't have all their handguns on the roster then they'll have none. Or maybe they don't want to deal with the headaches of the roster.

Ruger is not Glock. Ruger has an agenda. If you want to buy one new from a dealer without paying SSE fees, do it before it drops off the roster. Otherwise look in the second hand market.

Go to your LGS and buy the ruger. Dont bother calling ruger. If its in the store just buy it, dont wait either.

                    Guys,

Why is it that when I go to the website on the DOJ website showing which guns are on roster (http://certguns.doj.ca.gov/)...

There are no Ruger guns listed?

Are there are ruger 22 pistols on roster at this time? Please help.

As soon as I read about this a month or so agoo I snagged a MK3 from my LGS. A skinny barrel, fixed sight, bued one. I had one just like it in the late 80's . I'm holding on to this one...
