    Dumb SSC question

    Hello,

I'm new to the Cal Gun forum, but have been reading heavily the last few days. I was intrigued by the single shot conversion. I'm sure it has been answered before, but is there anywhere to buy the parts to do it, or do they all have to be custom milled? I was particularly interested in the XDm conversions for .45 and 9mm. Thanks.

Anytime I see these kind of questions by a newbie I always wonder......Is that you mister ATF ? Next question is where can I get my 80% completed with no questions asked ? Probably just a newbie but it just makes me say hmmmmm.

I hadn't thought about that. I am in no way connected to law enforcement. I'm a fireman in the Inland Empire. The reason I asked about milling is that my brother is a CNC machinist, but that seems an expensive way to legally have an XDM. Would be much easier if there is a kit.

There are dozens of threads talking about SSE and there is a sticky a the top of this forum... if "mister ATF" wants any info, it's already there for the reading.

As for the OP, I'm sure there is a shop in your area that deals in SSE firearms. I wish I could point you in a specific direction, but I'm in SD.

If you want to make the trip out here, we have a few places that handle SSE firearms. Off the top of my head, I know that both Parallax Tactical and Direct Action Solutions have the conversion kits for the XDm line.

but the main point is that you don't do the SSE work .. your FFL has to do it. The whole deal is that the gun must be in an SSE configuration when you pick it up, not after you take it home.

Actually I don't think it'd be an ATF issue since SSE only is kalifornia related as we're the only state that has a roster. As long as the ffl has te appropriate licenses ( I think it's an 07) it's irrelevant as far as they are concerned. Likewise ATF isn't going to care about dros issues or anything like that. The only things they'd be interested in perhaps would be making SBR's or something. Also, the 80% thing caught their eye because that's a manufacturing issue.

In state laws ATF won't bother with or is even empowered to deal with, I don't believe.

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.
