    Taurus 617

Are the Taurus 617's a good reliable revolver? I am looking to get a resonably priced CCW relolver and i like that it has a 7 shot cylinder. So whats the word on this gun?

It's a Taurus, it is probably good. New smiths arent that good IMO, I would get a pre-lock smith.

Grab the gun, move the cylinder to see the free play, it should be a very little to none, then cock the hammer and move the cylinder again to see the replay, this time should be zero. My 2 SW are this way, my Ruger has a little but my taurus 605 has a bit free play, Brazillian techniques can no way comparable to the US or Germany, you got what you pay for, also my Taurus has poor accuracy even on a benchrest.
