Any 1911 Eclipse 10mm converted to 357sig

Thats right just like Glocks have conversion barrels, so do 1911's.

Bar-sto makes a drop in conversion for full size 1911's in 10mm to shoot 357sig, 9x25dillon, and .40. You have to call and request it I don't see it on their website.

You would need the magzine from a .40 1911 for both the ..40 and the 357sig, but the Dillon uses the same magazine as the factory 10mm.

I was reading this on 1911.org forum and thought maybe some calguner can post pics and a report on it.

why not get a slide and barrel for your 45? see if that can be done, glock guys do it all the time G21 with a G20 slide/barrel/mags and the switch between the calibers in seconds.

I called Kimber and asked. I have a 4in Eclipse Pro with a full size frame. I asked if I could put a 5in .45 acp slide. Kimber rep mentioned it may work, but the frame to fit would not be in play. Thus, it may not shoot the quality groupings it does now. They said it may work or may not. It may shoot just as good, or be completely off. If its that much trouble for a 45acp to a 45acp, I didn't even bother asking about the 10mm slide assembly.

Then again, they could be wanting me to buy another Kimber!!!!!!!!!!

Ah I didnt know it was on the 4" pro setup, what about a full size 45 with two uppers, or get a 10mm kimber, they are nice.

Inspite of it being 4in, it has a a full size frame. I use a 5in .22lr Kimber conversion on it. It fits perfect and works perfect. The fact that its a 4in makes no difference, but there are 4in Kimbers out there without the full size frame. They are limited to 7 round magazines. Mine uses Wilsons 47d's flawlessly.

If you can find the 10mm upper assembly for your full size frame it may go right on (along with the recommended ejector and spring weight). If it doesn't fit, you can take it to a good gunsmith and they should be able to fit it to your frame. My Delta upper fit on a friends Springfield 1911 and he shot 100 rounds of 10mm blazer without any issues.

Where to start?

The 357 Sig and the 9x25 Dillon work best on a lower that was configured for the 40 S&W or 10mm. Same ejector. The 38 Super will use the same ejector as the 9mm.

A 40 can be rechambered to a 10mm or a 9x25 Dillon. A 357 Sig will need an entirely new barrel.

The slide is any entirely different ball of wax. A 9mm slide can be made to work with any caliber but a 45 slide cannot unless the inner runner is milled so that an ejector for a 40(et al) will clearence. (think I got that right as I'm tired and half awake.)

I'm converting a P-16(40) to a 10mm longslide as we speak. That is going fom a 5" 40 to a 6" 10mm. The mags are the same whether calif legal or hi-caps. I'm using a Fusion slide, Clark barrel , etc. The gun goes to jim hoag tomorrow for final fitting, etc. This is going to be my 'Piggy Gun".

I might add that nothing is "drop-in". If you want 'drop-in' just find some one that will rechamber your existing barrel.
