    Thompson Center Shooters....I Need Advice

    Who reloads for T/C's?

    I have a 44 mag Encore (pistol), 12" barrel ....

Can I safely use plated 44 mag bullets for reloading so long as they contain the minimum charge. I ask because the 44 mag in TC produces a lot more velocity (no cylinder to barrel gap) than my SBH or SRH. I don't want the bullet to disintegrate as it travels down the barrel, fouling the rifling.

    Anyone with experience?

    Thanks

Yes. Use a regular handgun load that keeps velocity below 1200 FPS(or whatever your MFG'er recommends) and you should be OK. I reload .357 Magnum
with plated and they work great. Also you should try Trail Boss powder, it's awesome!!!

Thanks, I have a bunch of 240gr Rocky Mountain Reloading (RMR) bullets, they are copper plated and they (RMR) say they can be pushed 1500fps. I currently only have AA#9, great powder for hot loads, not so good for watered down practice loads.

Your 357 is a TC contender?
