Bought my wife a Ruger SP101 .22 revolver as a surprise - she had talked about one and thought she'd like it. Surprise was on me - she doesn't like it. I'm torn between selling it and keeping it for myself. One thing I don't like about it is the really small handgrip - just not comfortable for me to hold. I've read one article about switching to some rubber Hogue grips. Has anyone done this or have any other suggestions. THX

Sell it you don't seem to like it. Get her something else. -
I have one.
First thing is go get is a hogue monogrip, and it changes the whole balance of the pistol. I got some on amazon, less than $20 if I remember correctly.
Second step toward improving the action would be to completely clean and lube the internals.sigpicComment

Grips are such a personal thing.....While I liked the Hogue grips on SP101-22, I ended up with a set of Trausch grips. Made in France, and may be hard to find now, as the owner of the company passed away unexpectedly a year or so ago. Really like the way they fit my hand. I think they were $30 including shipping."Bye Felicia!" - Said by me, as I looked at Kalfornia in my rearview for the last time, 9/22/17.
