    Glock "compensated"

So I was at the local LGS today and I was looking at Glocks and saw a G19C.. I thought to myself is it really worth it to buy this particular model especially if its an extra $40 on the retail price.. I never shot the 19C so other then knowing it releases more muzzle flash with each shot is there any real reason to own one other then conversation factor..

Who owns a "Compensated" model glocks.? Whats the benefits of owning it.

    Less recoil. That's it.

Personally never been a fan myself. But to each their own.

Yeah I couldn't see myself paying the extra $40 either for something that didnt seem like it would benefit "me" personally.

I own the 23c. It was my first handgun. The muzzle flash really isn't bad even shooting it in the dark. It has absolutely no muzzle rise even when rapid firing it. The gun just pushes straight back at you which really helps with follow up shots. It is significantly louder than the non compensated model so you don't want to shoot it without hearing protection unless you have no other choice. Its a great gun and Glock is discontinuing the "c" models so there may be some collector value there in the future.

If you ever plan to compete, don't buy it unless you plan on changing barrels, as being compensated will put you into the open class...

Exactly why I didnt buy it..

Mostly just curious why others picked it over the standard models.

The porting isn't needed on a 9mm (19). It does make a noticeable difference on the G23. I have a G23C and it's very smooth, not jumpy and easy to regain your sight picture.

Agree, not needed in a 9mm, but all you have to do is buy a regular 19 barrel and you got both the c and reg. 19. And like stated above they don't make them anymore.

I special ordered a 20c and then hand fit a barsto barrel to it. I love it. It helps with muzzle rise a little. I think it looks pretty cool too.Huge fireballs at the indoor range with my blue dot reloads. No regrets at all.

                        Funny thing about Blue Dot......

                        The amazing flash. Haha.

My favorites in 10 are longshot, AA 5 and 9, 800x....but I have the bluedot to light up the night sky.

Having the slide factory-cut gives you options. You can buy a regular barrel to get rid of the "compensated" factor or use the one that comes with it. Two guns in one.

With a standard config, your slide is not "cut" so you're only left with one choice unless you fork over far more than the extra bucks that a "c" model costs.

i have a 17c, 22c, 23c, and I will never sell any of them, and they work as advertise.

Only downside is if u run it too wet, you will get splatter all over the place, but that really isn't the guns fault.
