Kimber Desert Warrior or Eclipse Custom II?

Between the 2, which would you prefer to purchase?

Desert warrior. Much more rare. Ive seen the eclipses in every shop I go to, seriously. Never seen a desert warrior.

If not, I vote for Eclipse, unless the Desert Warrior is Series I.

The Eclipse shoots really well and is a fine looking 1911, too.

I'm not a huge Kimber fan but only these 2 Kimbers have unique looks that I'm attracted to and am more interested in harder to get pistols. Since this will be my first Kimber and I like harder to get pistols, Desert Warrior sounds like it will be my pick.

No need for a rail. I've liked the Eclipse's finish since it first came out years and years ago but the FDE Desert Warrior is also very attractive.

Only the 2 I mentioned are my possibilities and would absolutely be nice to have front strap checkering. Not interested in the raptor series. They are cool but not not what I really like.

I don't think the Desert Warrior cones with front strap checkering. I may be wrong. But yes, the FDE makes it look different/unique.

You can always send it in or go to a gunsmith and checked the front strap for around 150 bucks.

I feel for ya, you are buying a Kimber. I pretty much want one of each one they make.
Already own a Stainless TLE RL II and love it. Even with the older external
extractor. I think you like which ever you get.

Desert Warrior, I really like FDE handguns and my Desert Warrior is one of my favorite handguns. Not a big stainless fan when it comes to handguns/1911s. The Eclipse is a very good looking 1911 just not my thing.
I use grip tape on my DW and have added a few up grades. EB MSH with mag well and VZ recon grips. It's been a great shooter, only 1400 rounds fired so far but it's been a sweet running gun. Pluses are series 1 gun and standard GI recoil spring and plug. With my TRP I had to ditch the full length guide rod and buy the parts to convert it to GI.

I really like the look of the SOC, I have never handled one but every pic that I have seen of one did not have front strap checkering. Did Kimber add that to the newer SOC's?
