Glock Lower Frame

Nooob Question's.
So i own a G17 Gen 3 and i would love to buy a ODG lower frame for it.

How would i go about buying one?

Can i just shipped it home?

Do i have to DROS it?

Is the lower consider a firearm in CA?

Will it fit my G17?

Can a frame and Lower have 2 different owners with the same serial?

I really couldn't find anything on the forums and i also try Google but i didint find much. Thanks for any help in advance.

A Glock lower is considered a firearm and would need to be DROS'd and sent to an FFL.

Another way is buy the whole gun and than sell the slide.

These guys get Glock frames in from time to time but never seen the OD for sale.

Just cerakote it, the air dry stuff works great, and very durable. If you were up in the Bay area I would spay it for you.

Just a warning, some FFLs won't let you buy a lower frame because you can't do the safe handling demo without a complete gun. I have known people who have been able to get around it by bringing the top end with them to do the demo, but just make sure if you get a frame shipped call the FFL and make sure they are cool with it.

It's a drive, but Fort Courage Armory in Simi Valley is great for Internet sales. They have done a few for me - it's kind of their niche.

ETA: also, frames are not on the roster. That can explode the heads of a few FFLs. They don't know what to do with a frame.

1. Easiest way... Buy a Glock 17 Gen 3 OD, then sell the slide/barrel.

Thanks for all the answers guys, yeah best bet is to buy a complete gun and sell the slide thanks to all. =)
