    COLT EXPERTS...help please..

    Ive got a colt 1911. got a deal on it at a pawn shop. no box. just the gun and a mag. need help with the serial.

    can someone tell me when it was made? thanks in advance.

    And it should tell you the year

      I put the serial in and it says no record. I have the gun in my hand. That is the serial. It says if i need furthar assistance to call. Sucks.

          Ouch.. If you know what time period its from and if its military or commercial, it can probably be looked up here..http://proofhouse.com/colt/

          Or as suggested , post some pics and someone more knowledgable should be able to help

              Yep. I am a moron. Edited. hopefully your one year off though. I arrived in 80 and would like to have a pistol built the same year.
