    P226 Goodness

I missed my P228 that I carried for so many years before I retired. I wanted a new Sig pistol and decided that I would prefer the longer sight radius of the P226
I also wanted a rail. I needed to buy used because all the new ones have been Californicated.

I was able to find a nice used one for sale on CalGuns Forum. I decided to change out the sights but they were in so tight I couldn't budge them so I sent
the slide off to CCR refinishing to have the Nitron removed and Night Sights installed. (nothing wrong with Nitron just wanted the two tone look).

While it was away I bought a .40 cal conversion so now I have two calibers in one Sig. I may buy a .357 sig. barrel and have all three. I was kind of afraid of a US built model, but it shoots like any other Sig I have used. I enjoying having
    a Sig Pistol again.

    before:

    after:

with .40 slide barrel, spring, and mag.

Very Nice! Did you also bought the rosewood grips used or brand new?

found the wood grips on Ebay now have factory plastic and Hogue rubber. I shoot with the Hogues most of the time.

Not usually a fan of the two tone look but that looks fantastic with the wooden grips! How much did you pay to have the coating removed if you don't mind me asking?

It was I believe $89.00. CCR always does a fantastic job for a very reasonable price. They have refinished and done gun smithing on several of my pistols.
There is a listing of their fees on the website.

                      Looks nice.

I'm thinking of going the opposite way... Blacking out the slide on my Platinum Elite.
I do believe that, where there is only a choice between cowardice and violence, I would advise violence... I would rather have India resort to arms in order to defend her honour than that she should, in a cowardly manner, become or remain a helpless witness to her own dishonor. -- Mahatma Ghandi

congrats. beautiful results; proof is in the puddin. your grips truly enhance the aesthetics of your P226. i've got original OEM optional wood grips for most of my w german P series Sigs and like the look; still, i prefer the ergonomics of the original black checkered plastic grips.

There are a few reverse two tones floating around also. I would pick one of those up in a heartbeat given the opportunity.
