I've been in the shop when they put them back together and that doesn't happen...it isn't the way SIGs are set up as to the slide frame interface...it isn't like they are a tightly fitted 1911. (and Enos advises grease (Slide Glide) on the rails of 1911s too)
Many people don't know, but part of what helps the rails of well lubricated SIG alloy frames live longer is partly lubrication and partly hydraulics...the grease cushions the impact of the slide on the rails as it twist in recoil
