Glock 23 Frame

So long story short my glock frame or lower was damaged. I took it to a local gun smith who said my rail was damaged and I would need a new frame. How would I go about getting a new frame since each one has it's own serial number? Is this something I can get thru glock or would I have to go to my local gun shop? I have some pics of the damage and was wondering would a new frame be the only choice....

Your pistol gets shipped to Glock.
Glock ships a new pistol to your CA FFL dealer.
CA FFL dealer transfers (4473/DROS/10 day wait) the pistol to you.

Glock is free, as is the return leg of shipping back to the FFL.

But you will save a bunch off the ~$80.00 outbound shipping if you let your FFL do it.

What ever way you go your frame and slide will now have a different serial numbers. Glock will not make a duplicate serial number for you. They will just grab a frame from inventory and swap it out. They will also change out any and all springs as a courtesy.

Glock may try to charge you if they determine that the damage was due to negligence, abuse or caused by the use of aftermarket parts. If they charge more than $230 (Gunbroker- New Glock 23 frame for $169 + $11shipping + $50FFL =$230) I would have my FFL buy a complete new frame off of Gunbroker and go that route.

If you don't mind me asking, how did it happen? ...not that I want to get in your biz but I own a few Glocks and if you have an issue with your Glock that I may have with mine it would be nice to know. If you don't care to share I'll just move along.

If it's under warranty, it'll be free.

If it's not under warranty, they charge $150 to replace a frame.

As others have said give GLOCK a call or send them an email with the photos, and see what they say. As long as they don't think it was due to shooting reloads they'll most likely cover it under warranty.

If it is something that can't be fixed, and they replace they frame you'll need to have the new frames DROS'd.
