i have both and had mine custom fitted by sai as well. when i was visiting family in calabasas about 6 months ago i dropped my 34 off for the trigger upgrade i received it back that week with my new trigger installed.

I WOULD BE A DAMN FOOL TO SAY THAT SAI BUILDS A BETTER TRIGGER PACKAGE THAN ZEV TECH.

for the price, zev by far get my repeat business. i would go so far as to say sai's commitment to their product is lackadaisical at best. they dont even have a damn website for their part breakdowns...im guessing its so people dont compare their upgrades to taran tactical or zev. which is why i am sending my benelli m4 to taran tactical.

fast forward two months and after shooting my friends tier 1 34 and 17 (he waited for a year for them to ship), i can safely say that my glocks shoot much cleaner and have much better feel from the stippling. the only sai factor i found nice was the weight reduction of the slide and rmr cuts.

gray does a much, much better job than sai. please dont compare bruce to these folks. i refer to their pricing structure as celebrity numbers.

when we go buy a range rover hse, we spend roughly 85k out the door...a celeb will pay 140.

The one and most notable benefit in that theory is the time spent behind the trigger, but on the opposite end, the artificial wear created by polishing the bearing surfaces will always far exceed the manual wear created by allowing the parts to wear together. Simply removing the scale associated with heat treatment is an improvement, and besides that, I couldn't begin to imagine the round-count needed to come close to duplicating artificial wear.

In my case, I use a hard arkansas to polish the bearing surfaces, then follow with Flitz by hand. Not opposed to machine polishing (Dremel), but there's no need.

broken springs, failure to reset, etc. these triggers have been an utter failure for almost every owner myself included. there is a reason people have been swapping them back out for zev. that reason is poor construction and implementation.

other than personal experience? nope. then again, im too lazy to do the research for you.

im not sure how many people would take the time to blog about the trigger group they replaced in their glock. im sure they were embarrassed enough by the fact they blew $250+ and the time it took to ship their weapon to sai. i am not one of those folks.

                ill say it plainly:

i wasted over $300 on this trigger group and was too pissed to ship my weapon back to sai so they could work on it. instead, i just took the hit, swapped my fulcrum kit back in and moved on vowing to never purchase another sai fad.

Glocks have about 3 parts in them, so the fire control system is not inherently complicated.

Of course, I'm obviously exaggerating about the number of parts, but as noted in my response to the OP's question, SAI reworks the bulk of the existing fire control components, so unless you're implying that Glock factory parts are poorly constructed, I do not understand the reference to poor construction.

The billet flat-faced trigger is fit to the trigger bar no different than Zev, so I am not entirely sure I understand the reference to poor implementation either.

Aside from that, we are talking about a stamped factory trigger bar, a stamped factory connector, a hollowed factory striker, a machined firing pin safety, and a set of springs.

The point is, there is nothing vastly different about the SAI system.

As for doing research for me, or almost everyone switching back to Zev, aside from you, I have not heard or read a single instance of that happening, and yes, I know how to use Google, and did so in search of reviews prior to SAI receiving my pistol. No feedback simply because there has not been much information published about the trigger because it is relatively new.

I'm not here to argue, and I respect your opinion. If you don't like the trigger, that's perfectly fine, but I do have a problem with the misinformation, and your attempt to bring merit to your opinion by implying that "the trigger has been an utter failure for almost every owner."

Sorry you didn't have any luck with your trigger.

as far as construction goes, your pics were fantastic and you can easily identify the differences in parts from one to the other. construction of the reworked parts would be the culprit imo (thus implementation of poorly constructed parts), not the parent glock design.

oh, im not the only one who has swapped, i would go into who exactly but dont want them to catch any bs from sai.

my friend who owns the 34 and 17 swapped his out a month after he received them.

youre of course correct that these triggers are very new to market and im sure there is a reason so many fail but i am definitely not the only one. i just am a bit more butthurt about it because i dont usually fall for an item like this.

truly you seem like a vendor hawking these trigger groups. a regular individual does not take pictures of their triggers outside of their weapons and do a comparison. the rest of us install our triggers, go shoot a crap ton of rounds through our weapons and toss what doesnt work or what i would consider (in sai's case) a fad.

i would be interested to know how many pros run zev triggers vs sai triggers. i would wager that number is highly in zev's favor and when you need to shave time off your scores, one or two bucks will not dissuade the shooter.

i hope you get some rounds through your glock with the sai trigger and post back your thoughts. i would be especially interested once you hit that 2k mark and see if your reset fails.

EDIT: oh, i am referencing the ultimate kit from zev and not the regular fulcrum so price is a moot point.

I guess taking 4 minutes to strip the frame was a bit over the top, especially considering how hard and complicated it is to disassemble a Glock.

Yes, the friend that waited a year for the Tier 1 pistols that your Fulcrum equipped Glock outshot.

By all means, post a picture of your friends Tier 1 pistols with Fulcrum triggers installed. Actually, nevermind. I forgot that it's not normal to take pictures of anything. Better yet, he will "catch BS from SAI," right?

First, your comment was based on personal experience, but now your friend ditched the SAI triggers as well. This is getting more interesting by the minute!

More unsubstantiated and unfounded nonsense. This was never a challenge. I simply asked that you substantiate those claims with an article, a link, something, anything, but you've yet to do so, and doubt you will, which is fine. Had I known asking for proof would turn into a pissing match, I'd have said nothing at all.

If this is a direct comparison, Zev has had an easily accessible drop-in trigger on the market for many years, so that's somewhat of a moot point there, Bud.

If the trigger fails to reset, I will address one of the two culprits that generally cause that type of malfunction, which would likely be the trigger spring, or connector. This is NOT rocket science.

i believe the person i am referring to gets a large discount off his sai purchases to run in competition. i dont want to cause him any waves.

lol, the op started this thread at 8am, you saw the post then decided to:

                        a) go grab your glock with sai trigger and disassemble
                        b) find your fulcrum trigger wherever you had moth-balled it in favor of the sai
                        c) find a suitable location to take comparo pics
                        d) host the pics
                        e) create the post comparing the two

...all in two hours. i applaud the speed of your work but i believe the post was prepared well ahead of time.

he paid full price for his glocks, $2k+ with rmr so i doubt he cares what sai thinks. i just texted him for some pics of his tier 1 glocks. i am sure he will have to take some pics today because he and i dont take candid shots of our weapons...thats kinda a prima donna thing.

its been substantiated by the industry not picking up this trigger and running with it. do you not honestly believe that if it were better than zev, more people would be running it than the fulcrum? i dont take your post as a challenge and dont see this as a pissing match. i see you as a vendor possibly connected to sai and trying to push their products either for personal financial or product reward. of course i could be totally off base with this assumption and my thoughts toward your review could be clouded by my waste of money and time spent on my vacation driving to oxnard from calabasas. i declined an invitation to play golf at a private club so that i could get this mod done.

TTI uses zev components to the best of my knowledge. i buy TTI spring kits and they look and feel the same as zev kits just packaged differently.

actually, it isnt entirely. as i stated before, every fraction of a second counts for these guys so it would make sense if they went with the best option to make them successful. they havent picked sai.

true, and that would solve the reset issue. problem is you dont want to have that issue on match day or if you ever had to use the weapon for self defense.

it does indeed. there is a reason i am this way. i was the one who sought out sai, i had a bad experience, know others whom have had similar and i am speaking out about it.

The way you tell it, the SAI trigger will disintegrate, spontaneously combust, implode, induce an explosion within the frame (etc), and have nothing tangible to bring merit to your claim.
lol, tangible? did you want me to ship the trigger group to you? take pics of something i got rid of and now be sad that i wasnt able to post them for your benefit? im pretty sure you are either on their payroll or want to be with this fanboi attitude. in no way did i state any of those ridiculous examples of combustion, implosion, etc, etc, bs, bs. that is just your emotional outburst at someone popping your sai bubble.

im not really sure about their sales numbers of the triggers in the first place. especially when theyre so finicky that they must be installed by the "gunsmith" in the first place. in any case, hopefully people will easily find this thread that we have created and now will have a documented example to work from.
