What is this Python worth?

Found this locally, first Python I have actually seen in person, wasnt too impressed with the finish, or maybe my expectations were just higher for a 2k+ pistol.

I need some help from those of you that know Pythons as to what fair price is?

Seller states less than 100 rounds through it, no box, original ppw and receipt is available.

well, the fact that its a Colt Python puts it at at least $800
The finish is messy but they aren't making Pythons anymore.

Generally speaking, the shorter the barrel, the more it will be worth, with 6" barrels being the most common. Good luck getting ANY Python for $800, more likely, it will fetch at least two grand.

I think it would look a lot better if you were to clean it and give it a coat of Renaissance Wax and take pictures under better light. Don't use a flash, ambient light will give less reflections and the actual condition of the finish will become apparent. Cell phone cameras take crappy pictures of guns for some reason so try to use a real digital camera. If the stocks are original, it is a later production piece.

We would need the serial number to give an exact date.

This would be the only reason to go back in time with the Delorean Time Machine, to buy every last Python you could. I'd love to see that original receipt, just for ghits and shiggles...

I bought an 8" model in 1980. I think I still have the receipt, I'll look for it.

I bought one around 89'-'90, cost about $660.00.

Oops! I didn't see the picture with the serial number clearly. K79243 was made in 1982.

It's worth $1700 elsewhere. In CA it's worth $2100 give or take.

You need to know that every gun on the market has 100 rounds or less through it

100 rounds! No way. 93 or 94 rounds, but not 100.

Had a 6in Python once. Got rid of it because the head space kept getting worse the more I shot it. Still kicking myself. Most accurate hand blaster I ever owned.
