NorCal PPQ SSE

This is probably a topic that is boring some of you to death, and duplicated across several threads, but I sense that some threads are outdated etc...

EBR in SoCal seems to be the place to buy the PPQ and have SSE conversions done on the spot. However I try to justify driving for 10 hours 4 times to get it done there, I was hoping there is a similar service closer to the Bay Area.

I contacted UG Imports, but according to them I need my own SSE kit to do it through them, and I got the sense that obtaining this kit is illegal (?).

Anyway, sorry to waste your time, I am just hellbent on getting the PPQ, but I live in the opposite end of the state with two young kids, so going off for a long weekend to obtain an elusive gun is not quite possible.

Go to Tracy Rifle & Pistol in Tracy. I don't know if they do the PPQ specifically, so give them a call first. I'd be willing to bet they can help you out though.

What i understand the SSE kit is just mainly a long barrel and mag block. I don't see any legal issue to own a SSE kit.

If TRP can't, Rick up north some at Placer Tactical does. It's still sort of a drive, but at least it's not 10 hours.

Buy one from gunbroker, then ship it to Table Rock Arms in OR to convert it. After the conversion, they will ship it to your local FFL. Either UG Import or Rob Blank. It's a bit longer process, but it just a few extra emails and phone calls to set everything up. http://www.tablerockarms.com
