Non Captive Guide Rod on Gen 4 Glock.

I am getting interested again in joining the Glock bandwagon, esp. the Gen 4 Glock 21.

Would like to know if the Wolff stainless full-length guide rod will drop in. I would want to change the factory captive into an aftermarket non-captive.

Not sure, but you should just keep it factory. Why cant it before giving the factory guide rod a chance. I am not allowed to modify any parts on my gun, but all of my Glocks are bone stock and never failed me once.

IF you're going to buy one, do yourself a favor and get the Jager GEN 4 captive guide rod. The standard Wolff will not drop in without some kind of adapter, and the LWD adapter was not compatible a few years ago. I run a Jager polymer GR with a 13# ISMI spring for USPSA Production class, and it fits & functions perfectly. I only use it with light/gamer reloads, but for everything else I run stock. The stock RSA will function fine even with weak reloads, but it does throw the brass back at me sometimes (only with weak reloads).

I did suspect that the Wolff aftermarket GR might need some adapter to fit. Your feedback confirmed this.
