Can't go wrong with either one of them.Comment

Both are great choices. Just a matter or preference regarding activation and priceComment

I have two TLR's and have had no problems. IMO Surefires prices are insane and are only marginally better in certain respects. Buy the Streamlight.Last edited by StuckInTheP.R.O.Ca; 02-16-2014, 5:57 PM.__________________________________________________ _____________

I bought both the X300 ultra and the Streamlight TLR1 HL. I returned the X300 and now have two TLR 1 HL's. It came down to reliable activation of the momentary on for me. You have to push directly forward on the small tail cap of the X300 whereas you can just press the large paddle down on the TLR. I found it uncomfortable to push forward on the tail cap with bare hands and that it was both hard to do reliably and disturbed my grip.
Also the mounting system is far superior on the TLR IMHO. To get a snug fit with the x300 ultra on both my Glocks and Sigs, I have to tighten the hex head mounting screws after sliding the light on. What's the point of making it quick detach if I need tools to take the light on and off anyways. With the TLR, you put it on and hand tighten the screw with your fingers, end of story.
This is just my experience though. Both lights besides those personal gripes are bright, rugged, and reliable.Last edited by ironic; 02-16-2014, 8:39 PM.Comment

Your asking AK vs AR here.
Both are market leaders for a reason.Comment

Like everyone has already said it comes down to activation.
-The tlr you activate by moving the paddle up or down using your support thumb or trigger finger. It moves very easily with little force and one direction is momentary only while the other clicks into place as a constant on.
- The x300 also moves into place with an up or down on the paddle for constant on however it takes much more force to move it into place. For momentary on you press the paddle inward towards the bezel and it does not require much force.
I also have both and much prefer the x300 for a pistol because of the activation. It is also a lighter weight and slightly smaller light. I have the tlr1 hp on my rifle and it is my opinion the ultimate rifle light. That being said I think the Inforce looks like a brilliant pistol light and I really want to try one. It's activation looks like it may be even better than the x300.Comment
