P229 German frame and US frame differences?

I was wondering if there are any size or spec differences between the 229 in a 9mm of the German made frame versus US made frames?

For example any problems in swapping slides on these two? Or any different sized sights. Etc.
Oh and both are recent railed models.

I've had both a US made 229 and a German made 229 and I can say that the German made is a of vastly superior construction. I dont know if I just got a spotting one out of Exeter at the time or what, but I wouldnt ever sell this German model.

You never technically bought a "German" P229. All the P229's are manufactured with a slide milled from solid stainless steel here in the US (Exeter, NH) and are therefore considered US made by the SiG enthusiast community. Early in the shift to the US milled sides for all The "P series" pistols, frames continued to be made in Germany. Frame production was ramped up in the US and most SiG P series pistols are entirely US made ( slide and frame) except for a couple high end custom shop guns and the occasional German made frame seen on "special configuration" Sig. Sig is notorious for mixing and matching overrun parts. Occasionally you can still find a newly made P228 despite the model being dropped from the lineup some years ago. It's as if Sig found a run of old P 228 slides and fit them into American P229-1 frames. Go figure...

But back the the question, the location of the frame's manufacture dictates is its a German or American made weapon.

          Cheers!

Thanks for the input. But no one has answered what I originally asked. Any differences in specs that would cause you to not be able to swap parts on each other. Like slides for instance?

The frames are identical. One is made in Germany and one is made in the USA. This of course is if you are talking about the original P229, not the 229-1.

Sig's US frames are forged in Texas by a company that has an exclusive contract with Sig... All they do is forge frames for Sig. In fact, they even use the same CNC machines as the Sauer factory does (same model numbers).

The early US frames were forged by another company and had some issues.
