Barang, any one of the old P220, P225, P226, and P228 is good to have. I personally prefer "W. Germany" just for nostalgic reason. I'm also looking for all of the above with KB (1991) date code. My first Sig was a P226 bought in 1994.

My current shooter is a P226 retired by Swiss police. I find the P226 easier to shoot than P228. I am more accurate with the P226 than any of my other 9mm pistols.

If you really want to go all out, get a P210-2.

As far as I know, Sig builds all the new pistols here for sale in the US. There is a small quantity imported every year, like the X models. Those are still only made in Germany. However, even Germany has switched from folded carbon steel slide to machined stainless steel slide. I personally prefer old carbon steel slide. It's lighter and balances differently than stainless steel slide on the new models. I do have a P220 Combat with the new stainless steel slide. I like my old W. German P220 better.

I have a mid 90s 226, 228, and 229 and a early 90s 220. ( the 226 is for sale check my ad). The 229 is an 'American' gun but is early 229 production. Fit and finish are just as good as my 228/226/220. I have a later 220 steel and a 229r. They are good but just not quite the same. I can't verbalize it. Anyway if you can get a 228/226 with little wear and abuse grab it

So much going on right now: Have one P226 .40 stainless in jail. Next, a P229 after that. Then I can concentrate on P226 9mm all German. Tomorrow, my wifey and I will be hunting a van. I'm exhausted already.
