Looking to add a CZ in 9mm to the stable and these are the only ones available. I don't want to SSE so it's between these two. I believe the BD might be the police edition if that matters. I understand the difference between DA/SA but does the SA have a crisper trigger pull? I'm at a toss up between the two and have only held each in my hand, both of which are good. And I've only shot the p01 version. It'll be used for home protection and see some range time but no competitions or anything along those sorts. I'd like to hold out for a SP-01 but I haven't seen any under $700 + sales tax and fees. The two I'm looking at are used and can be had for under $600 OTD. Any advice on which to choose would be appreciated.

CZ-75BD or CZ-75 SA

For me, not a question, the SA for sure. Get a CZCustom or CGW competition hammer and you'll be amazed. It's easier to slick up the non decocker guns (from what I've heard) though it can still be done.
With the comp hammer in there, incredible trigger.==================

Remember to dial 1 before 911.
Forget about stopping power. If you can't hit it, you can't stop it.

I'm comfortable with decockers. Trained with and carried two different models for watchstanding duty.
I have no doubt that the SA is a great gun, but my personal preference is no external safeties on guns used for HD.
I got my CZ 75BD from grabagun.com for $466 a few months ago and it is my favorite gun.Comment

I've owned both. The SA has a higher upswept beaver tail than the standard 75B. It also has ambi safety.
The 75BD is not as upgrade friendly due to the decocker so if you plan on trigger work down the road you might want to take that into consideration.
My SA was strictly a range gun since I use my SP-01 for HD use.Comment

SA all the way!Stay Low, Go Fast, Take ChancesComment

I've converted both of my CZs to SAO, but they're strictly for the range. If I were to carry, I'd go with a decocker version, but that's just me.
As far as trigger pull between the two, you can always get some aftermarket parts from CGW or CZC to improve either one.Comment

The CZ 75 in SA has a full beavertail and the front of the slide is not ground down to simulate a Browning Highpower, it looks much much better to me and has a superior trigger pull.
OP do the right thing and go for the SA. I prefer it to the SP01 and that's a lot coming from me.Comment

I own both a p01 and an SA. Love me both.
The SA does have a nice and crispy trigger and it's accurate as poop. Althoughine is in .40 I'd bet money the 9 is softer.Originally posted by Jimi JahI punch paper only because it is illegal to punch people.Originally posted by elpaisa1I think flatulence is a more serious crime. I think it should be a misdemeanor with a 1000 dollar fine or 6 months of jail. It should be a felony if done near an open flame.
