Why is the Glock 26 gen 4 not on the ca list. Why are they only for law enforcement?

Most Gen 4 glocks are not on the list and have to be SSE. -

Gen4's were not added to the list as at the time of their release CA required to be newly rostered all pistols must have a chamber load indicator (note this is different from a loaded chamber indicator, state made up definition) and a magazine disconnect safety... neither of which the Gen4 Glocks possess. As of currently a Microstamping Array is also a requirement (which basically means no new pistols will ever be rostered again)... at least while the Roster continues to exist.
As others have mentioned Single Shot Exemption is the path to your salvation!

Gen 4 G26 fits so well for me in hand. The backstrap off and 2mm a world of difference. That being said, still do fine with gen 3.
But 19 always feels at home.
But the 26 has "as originally Intended" double stack mags. I trust them much better than the neutered 10-rd 2183-1 nonsense. Upgraded to 9mm3 but still bugs me.
Off topic rant: That and no 3rd mag came with G19 via GSSF plan. What a dealt consolation prize. Having to swap 2 tens for three 15's as non LEO. Still think I got played. Was to new to the trade to know any better. It had a "you are lucky we even do this" kind of vibe. Never went back after that. But GSSF itself is awesome. Just call ahead to local blue label dealer to be sure of what you get and the real OTD costs.Upgrade to L fries and coke.Comment

G26 Gen 4 is very nice, yet the G26 Gen 3 is not a deal killer especially in Commiefornia here. If see one in the store, if it fits okay in hand and the price is right, do go for it. Put a Talon Grip on it, and it'll fit most hands like a glove.Comment

Contact GSSF, give them the name of the store and tell them you got shorted on a mag. GSSF guns come with three mags ( unless they are sub compacts).Gen 4 G26 fits so well for me in hand. The backstrap off and 2mm a world of difference. That being said, still do fine with gen 3.
