CZ all the way. Let me know cause I know a few places with the 75b in stock right now in socal. but the ergs are just amazing when compared. Ask almost any marine what they think of the 92a1 and when you have the same gun in 40 its almost the same. The 75b has the "paintability" and just the feel and ergo of a great shooter. be careful tho because you will soon buy a compact and some others.

You can have CA model sent to your FFL for $550 from grabagun.com. That is where I buy all of my CZ's.

I've shot the Model 92F. I own the CZ75B in .40. The CZ feels like its part of your hand. The Beretta's ergonomics is horrible IMHO. My CZ75 is a tack driver. You know that the CZ is DA/SA with no decocker?

I recommend a CZ-40B. Why not benefit from the beauty and similar grip to a 1911, while maintaining compatibility with trigger system of the CZ-75. It also supports 10 rounds in a smaller package and grip than a 96. 96 aren't supposed to last as long before service compared to CZ's.

Yeah I'd say go for the cz. I own a 75 SA ad it's a dream to shoot and a tack driver. The recoil feels better in this than most other .40's I've shot as well, which is a plus.

do you have to do any internal modifications to the CZ to get this amazing result?

                    Replace spring
                    Trigger work
                    Etc???

I've only fondled the Beretta and didn't like the safety on the slide. The open section of the slide seemed it could get dirt in there. It is heavy like the CZs to reduce felt recoil. I just stick with my CZ's as the geometry, ergonomics are one of the best proven designs with the most potential to have a great trigger with some polish work and changing of few components.

I own both & shoot both. There's nothing wrong with the Beretta, I shoot IDPA with a Beretta Vertec. Given that, I'd choose the CZ & the first thing I'd do is swap out the trigger. The trigger is the only complaint I have. Because of its extreme curvature it'll cut into your finger during a day of shooting.

BTW, the Beretta isn't all steel, it has an alloy frame & many CZ's also have alloy frames.

CZ 100%. They just feel sooo much better in the hand and with the low bore their recoil is minimal. If you want to change sights you can unlike the Beretta.

I don't like the Beretta's for a couple reasons but the main reason is the slide mounted safety. You get to racking it fast enough under pressure and accidentally flip the safety on. Bring the pistol up to fire and it just says "NOPE".
