    Browning hi power "captain"

I got a trade offer for a Browning hi power "captain" with ivory grips

I don't own any Browning Hi power or Know much about the $ value of them.

Any info about this particular model will help.

Not sure ... He said custom simulated ivory made in US .... not sure what that means but I'm going to guess it's not

FFL dealer I work for has one with wood grips and he refused an offer of $1100. It looks nice in the photo.

How much did he want for it?

He pulled it out of the back room and a customer offered him $1100 for it. He refused the offer then decided to keep it.
You might check one of the gun auction sites to see if there are any similar guns for sale.

Original grips come with it. He said it was made and sold in 94 excellent condition with only 50 rounds through it.

I might be wrong? But I don't think that thumb safety is original.
                            Look up Vector Arms.

We still don't have enough information to really give you a meaningful answer. You haven't said what you would be trading for it. Also, if there is any sentimental value in what you have. I see Hi Powers going up in value at a steady rate and if you are trading something like..say a Glock for it, I'd do in a heartbeat. If you are giving up a rare gun like a wartime Luger, a Broomhandle, or a US property marked 1911, I would tell the other guy to kick rocks.
