    Ruger sr45 problem

I got the galloway smooth it kit and 3.5 trigger kit, after install with snap caps the trigger and feel did improve drastically, however I now have a problem with one of the magazines. I did remove the mag disconnect, but that should have no bearing on the problem I am having.
Ok, with the mag full putting it in and racking has no problem, first shot the shell gets jammed and the mag falls out. put the mag back in and rack, again no problem firing, the spent shell gets jammed, but the mag does not come out? The other mag fires all 10 without a hitch, but once I fire the last round the slide stays open as it should, load the other mag and it snaps closed right away? this problem was not happening before the galloway kit? Called Ruger and they said it was more than likely the mag?

    Any insight would be appreciated.

I have a stock SR45 and have had zero issues, but was thinking about some Galloway components.

My next step if the new mag doesnt work will be to put it back to stock and try again.

Received the new mag, same problem. Going to take the Galloway kit out and see if that works. Wish me luck.

bizarre! good luck, perhaps something just wasn't quite in the right spot on reassembly. weird that the other mag works fine though. curious to see how this plays out, as I plan to remove the mag disconnect on my lc9. don't yet plan to add any Galloway stuff until I've shot it enough and decide if it needs anything.

The magazines seated much easier when I removed the Mag Disconnect from my SR45.
The top edge of the magazine feed lips on one side push up the MD.
I think there might have been some binding here.

For your feed/ mag drop problem, the mag catch is not getting a full bite on the slot in the mag.
Many 10 round mags, regardless of brand of mag or gun, don't like to seat fully with the full ten rounds in them.
To be sure you can't get that eleventh round in the mag, ten-rounders are made so there is not much extra follower downward travel available.
The rounds are stacked solid against each other top to bottom and pushing against the bottom of the slide which can keep you from easily getting the mag in all the way.

Check for this by seeing how well the mag catch works with the slide locked back.
If the mags easily and consistently lock in place, you know the catch is OK.

ETA: maybe the one mag is not formed just right where it is shaped near the slide stop.
Take off the slide and see if the mag body contacts the stop...the body should not, only the follower should touch the stop.
It might be easier to see this by stripping the mag and just looking at the bare body in the frame.

                OK an update.
I now have about 500 rounds through it, I'm still getting ftf through one magazine. However I am getting most ftf from the spent case getting hung up on the loaded chamber indicator? Shot 50 rounds yesterday and 3 got hung up on the indicator.
So now my question is can I remove the indicator? If I do am I going to get and flash coming through the hole? And finally is it legal for me to remove a safety feature?

Yes you can remove the LCI.
You won't get flash or anything coming out of the hole / slot.
It is legal to remove, there is no law against it.
(However, if someone gets your gun and hurts themselves with it, you may have liability issues).
(Note that I removed the MD on mine so I'm not too worried about this stuff).

It seems odd that the LCI will cause a case to not eject.
I'm not sure this is the cause of the problem.
If you are using target type ammo (lower velocity), the slide may not be coming back far enough for the ejector to hit the case hard enough to eject it.
All polymer and alloy framed pistols, regardless of brand, need a firm grip and stiff wrist to function reliably.

                      Update:
Sent gun into ruger, replaced extractor, magazine latch thumbpiece, and striker assembly.
                      Repaired slide stop assembly.
Unfortunately they did not send me back my ghost trigger assembly or ghost striker assembly, even though the tech said if the parts were deemed to be causing the problem they would replace them with stock and send me back the aftermarket stuff. Ruger will be calling me back Monday to let me know what's going on with my ghost stuff.
On a positive note ruger got my gun did the repairs and had it back to me In 3 days. That's awesome. Now hopefully I can get my stuff back.
It's amazing how heavy and gritty this stock trigger is.
