    New 45

I'm going to get either a G30sf, or an XD compact. I know what feels better to me, and I know that's what matters mostly. But I'm looking for feedback from owners of each as to why their __________ or ___________ is better. I'm looking for issues of any kind, customer service experiences with either, round counts, etc... Both are basically in the same price range, accessories are readily available for both, etc..... This is not a caliber debate as .45 is the ONLY option, and yes I have 1911's.

This will be a carry weapon and will get converted to .460 Rowland, so if you have experience with that please chime in. Thanks for the feedback and info!!

I own a 30SF and have loaded 45 Super for it without issue. Even hot 45 Super is hard on the gun, so I imagine 460 Rowland will really accelerate end of life. Awesome cartridge though.

One other thing, I would try and shoot both before deciding. Sometimes a great feel in the hand at the counter doesn't translate to great results downrange.

    Good luck.

Thanks Bill. And you are right, sometimes what feels great will surprise with shooting results. I should have clarified, I shoot them both about the same, with ergos going to the XD. I'll probably end up with the 30, and the kit from Clark's Custom gun. It's a drop in and includes a new spring, so does the one form 460 Rowland. We'll see how it holds up.

It is funny, along with thinking that Glock's are about the ugliest gun made, I have found most other manufacturer's guns have better ergos to the Glock (notwithstanding bore axis, which counts as you move up the recoil scale), but in the end, I shoot them pretty well.

One thing I would do maybe is pick up some of that Underwood or Buffalo Bore .45 Super and run it in both guns. Bore axis might make a difference to you, or maybe not, at a minimum, it will give you a little insight into recovery times for both guns when shooting the hot stuff.

        Have fun.

The Underwood is FUN. I love it in my 10mm, and carry some of the .45 most days.......
I'm really looking forward to seeing it in 460! I may have a lead on a Gen 4, and if so I'll probably go ahead and go that route. There is something to be said for the simplicity of the Glocks, and ergos can be trained through......
Either way I can't wait to get this done..........

Egros goes to the xd if both were stock. never owned one only shot my brothers. But I love my 30. I did a full grip stipple, back strap removal and grip reduction and feels like a dream now. Which ever one u get u wont be disappointed.

Thanks xSARSx. Got any pics of that 30? Also I agree on the ergos, but there is something to be said for the simplicity of the Glock...it's about a pretty, and reliable, as a hammer.

I currently carry the 30sf daily. I chose it over the XD because I didn't like the grip safety and I felt the barrel sat too high on the frame of the XD. There was less felt recoil with the 30sf. Both are fine guns, but the Glock just fit my preferences.

WASR, thanks. Good info, I've noticed the same thing, the bore axis is a lot lower on the G30.

I have checked out Glockworx, good stuff. Here's what I did to a 23 I have. I keep it fed with 27 magazines. Since this pic I have rounded the trigger guard and under cut it, and fit the magazine a little better.

I shot Glock 30 and it wad nice. However, 45acp can get expensive so i usually carry 9mm.
I think xds 45 will be my choice if i were to carry 45.

I have a G30SF and so far, no issues and I love it. My choice for it is due to parts availability and felt more comfortable shooting it than the XD45 Compact though the XD's ergo are nicer.
